¶1. Per reftel request, poloff on May 9 met with the
Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to stress the
importance of timely submission of a 60-day report on steps
the Philippines has taken to implement UNSCR 1803. Poloff
informed Director for Security and Legal Matters Leah Ruiz of
the Office for United Nations and Other International
Organizations (UNIO) of the May 2 submission of the U.S.

60-day report, which was faxed to her. She recognized that
the Philippines was delayed in reporting to the 1737
