Dear Mr. President:
Greetings of Peace and joy!
I am currently student at the UP, taking up DS, through this course, we have been made aware of the conditions prevailing locally, as well as internationally, setting up enlightenment on our ignorance.
Somehow, we have come to better understand the political, economic and social scenario. Life in the Philippines as we know it, has become more difficult to bear. International affairs have directly and indirectly affected us in more ways than one. We, the youth, have tried voicing out our plea for peace and global cooperation, hoping that in some way, our government would recognize and include our opinions in its decision making. Much to our dismay because as much as want to be heard, we remain mute within the boundaries of our mother land.
I may be sharing the same sentiments as that of my fellow Filipino youth, when I say that we are against wars of any kind. If matters could be settled through peaceful negotiations, then let it be done. Nobody really wins in any battle because both side would incur casualties to the extent that even innocent individuals suffer and die.
The future of the youth and the coming generation now lies in your hands. Hoping for your most intelligent decision.
God bless the Philippines and America.
Ma. Adeline Peneyra
